The cost of paying for the college to get a degree is increasing every day and there are many drop- outs due to lack of financial funds to meet the college expenses. This is a regrettable situation and the government cannot afford to worsen that situation further, since students are the pillars of tomorrow’s nation.
Hence, many student education grants are awarded to help them make both the ends meet. Grants are preferred by students to loans or scholarships because it is free money and need not be repaid. Further, the student is not required to satisfy other criteria like being full time student or securing grade points.
The education grants for students can be utilized to take care of their tuition fees, books, housing and other related expenses. So, the financial burden is taken off from the shoulders of the students so that they can concentrate on their education alone. Such a financial assistance would help to heave a sigh of relief for the students.
There are various types of student education grants such as the Federal Pell grant, TEACH program grant, Stafford grant and so on and it is for the student to decide which is the best suitable grant available to and make the best use of it.
Education is vital in anybody’s life and in fact, it is the right of everyone and finance cannot and should not be a hindrance to achieve this goal in life.
