Nursing is considered as the career of great demand. Not many students enroll to study nursing as the schooling is extensive and the education is very expensive. But there are various options available to interested nursing students in the form of nursing student grants. Student loans are very different from the grants as loans have to be repaid whereas grants need not be.
One kind of nursing student grant is offered to the deserving and meritorious students who get qualified to receive the grant. The main idea of providing this grant or scholarship is that the students who received the grant should work a minimum of two year after they have got their graduation in a nursing institution that requires nurses badly. This type of nursing student grant covers all the tuition and additional expenditure along with a take home salary of one thousand US dollars a month. Nearly two hundred and above grants and scholarships of such kind are given every year.
Another kind of nursing student grant is the one which is given to disadvantaged (financially) students. The programs which are eligible to qualify for the grant include occupational therapy, dental hygiene, social work and veterinary school. Such grants or scholarships can be applied at the university or college’s office meant for financial aid.
Most of the nursing student grants are provided to students who pursue studies on a full time basis.
