Teacher Education Grant

There are many types of grants to help students who pursue education in high school and colleges and it is not an uphill task to obtain one. But it takes some time and effort to research the right type of grant that is suitable to the individual.

Among the various types of grants, the teacher education grant is the one that is helpful for those who are interested in going into the teaching profession. The Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher education(TEACH) grant program is one such grant program that provides as high as four thousand dollars a year, as assistance to students who plan to complete the course needed for taking up teaching as their profession.

The students, on completion of their studies, can serve as a teacher in a private or public secondary or elementary school. To qualify for this grant, the students must have at least 3.25 GPA for each payment period. When a student receives the teacher education grant, in exchange, he or she is expected to sign an agreement to serve as a full time teacher at some low income schools and within high need fields for at least four academic years.

Those who are highly interested in teaching profession but are unable to afford it financially can opt for teacher education grants. Since it is free money, it is certainly better than getting a loan and hence; teacher education grants must be fully availed of, to derive the maximum benefit.
